How much sod do you need?

Measure your lawn area in feet (length × width) and divide by 500 to get pallets — round up. A typical 2,000 sq ft front yard is 4 pallets. Leveling first? Our premium topsoil makes the base layer, delivered on the same truck.

"5 Star Service! We bought 7 pallets of sod, beautiful looking, thick and green, some of the best I have ever seen!"
— Peter C, Lantana

What's included — and what to have ready

Included with installation: fresh-cut delivery, laying and seating the sod, trimming to your bed lines and walkways, and cleanup of scraps and pallets. Choose Clearing + Installation and removal of the old grass and debris happens first.

Before the crew arrives: mark your sprinkler heads, mow the surviving lawn short if we're not clearing, and make sure irrigation works — new sod needs water the same day it goes down.

Worked example: pricing a front-yard re-sod

A typical 2,000 sq ft front yard is 4 pallets (2,000 ÷ 500). Replacing a weedy lawn? Use 4 × the "Clearing + Installation" price in the table above — old grass out, new Floratam or Palmetto down, one crew day for most residential yards. Adding a leveling layer first? Topsoil rides the same truck.

How it works

1️⃣ Measure and order
Pick Floratam or Palmetto, choose Include Installation (or Clearing + Installation if the old grass needs to come out), and set your pallet count.
2️⃣ We deliver fresh
Sod is cut fresh for your order — it goes down fast because it should never sit on the pallet for days.
3️⃣ Crew installs, you water
We lay, seat, and trim the sod to your edges and clean up. Then it's on you: soak it thoroughly the first day and keep it moist while it roots in.

Common questions

💬 Floratam or Palmetto?
Full sun all day: Floratam. Shade for part of the day or under oaks: Palmetto. Mixed yards usually do best with Palmetto throughout — see our Floratam vs Palmetto comparison.
💬 What does "Clearing + Installation" include?
Removal of the existing grass and debris before the new sod goes down — the right call when you're replacing a dead or weed-choked lawn rather than covering bare dirt.
💬 When's the best time to lay sod in South Florida?
Sod installs year-round here. During dry season, plan on more diligent watering the first few weeks; rainy season does some of the work for you.
💬 Where do you install sod?
Throughout Palm Beach County — Lake Worth is one of our strongest sod areas — plus surrounding communities. Start a project for whole-yard jobs.
💬 How soon do I water, and how much?
The same day it's installed — soak until water penetrates the soil beneath, then keep the sod consistently moist for the first two to three weeks while roots knit down.
💬 When can I mow new sod?
Once it resists a gentle tug — usually two to three weeks. Set the mower high for the first cuts; St. Augustine likes to be tall.
💬 Should I fertilize right away?
No — let it root first. Water is the whole job for the first month; feed after the sod is established.
